September 2017 Update

October's AGM will be held at Whangarei Cruising Club on Thursday 12 October, but will hopefully have teleconference available.
Note the upcoming Spring Training Regattas at Whangarei and Taupo, during the holidays (Wed 11 - Fri 13 Oct) and the Kerikeri Training Regatta in December.
With planning progressing for next year's Nationals at Taupo, preliminary costings show that the event could run over budget by a considerable amount. We may have to return to Algies for 2018 and would like to confirm this before the AGM. This would also allow us to review the entry fee at the AGM, as we endeavour to minimise costs to the teams.
IMPORTANT: For urgent response from all schools: - Have you already made bookings for accommodation and travel? If so, will you be able to get any deposits refunded? How do accommodation prices compare between Algies and Taupo? Can you please let Ross & I know by this Wednesday (13th), also state which school you are representing.
Stu Pederson is working on getting prices for new trailers, please contact Stu stuart.pederson@gmail.com , if you are interested.
Also, please contact Ross rosssutherland5@gmail.com if you want a bulk order of jib wires.
There is an opportunity to buy near new Nautivela 420s from the Worlds freight-free for 5700 euro, but we need a response quickly from anyone interested. They come with beach trolley and boat cover. Please email Ross ASAP.
Ross and David Hogg had a very encouraging meeting with the Lake Hood owners and the Ashburton Sailing Club about a base there and it is a very doable option for the future. We would like to run another training regatta there and regionals for Timaru, Wanaka, Dunedin and Christchurch next year in Tournament Week or any time that suits all those teams. There are considerably more accommodation options there now, along with more of everything in Ashburton with the growth going on down there.
Nelson College for Girls would also like to share their fund-raising ideas with you all (or if you are in the region, you may wish to participate) - thanks Ruurd & girls.
Good luck, for the Interdoms at the end of this month, to Kerikeri High School, Wentworth College, Marlborough Boys College and Nelson College for Girls.
