The Wellington TRIYA 420 high school sailing program is currently looking for coaches! TRIYA works with multiple high schools in the Wellington region to encourage youth sailing in the 420 class. The trust runs both learn to sail and racing programs (team sailing and fleet racing). We are looking for enthusiastic people with 420 sailing experience who have (ideally) done some coaching before. We are really excited to announce that NZTSA has partnered with the New Plymouth Yacht Club to host the 2024 NZSS Team Sailing National Championships. Hopefully everyone is really excited to get racing in a different venue, this will be the first nationals in New Plymouth since 2007 and the first time that the championships hasn’t been hosted in either Algies Bay or Lake Taup

Thievery were the winners at this years edition of the Open Championships – this year at the new venue, being hosted at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club in Auckland. Day 1 was a breezy affair with average winds of around 20 knots for most of the day. The Secondary Schools Team Racing National Championships has come to a close and after a delayed start, resulting in three days of intense and very breezy racing for the teams, we have a champion! With only one day of racing taking place with full sails on it was a very windy iteration of the championships.
