The 2015 Teams Sailing Nationals is underway now today in Taupo. Over the last two days we have had an umpire seminar convened by Jim Park, which was attended by 15 new and experienced umpires.

All thirty teams entered for this year’s nationals attended the formal briefing last night in the Great Lakes Centre, after completing weigh in at the Lake Taupo Yacht Club. The shore base crew of volunteers have been busy over the weekend setting up the event on and off the water and overhauling all the boats to make sure they are ready for a week of racing.

Richard Brown, the Principal Race Officer, will hold a briefing each morning for all the sailors at 0815, before getting underway with racing at 0945 today. The forecast today is for southerly 15 knots with a high of 12 degrees.
